The Experts of the DG Infrastructure & Urban Transformation Services Participated to the International Asbestos Expo

The International Asbestos 2015 Expo was organized in Netherland in the period of 15-16 April 2015. The Expo presented the various facilities of the legislation, applications, and technical equipments about the asbestos safety in building demolitions as well as information and implementations for the managing of asbestos in buildings.

The experts of the DG focused on the asbestos safety in building demolitions in Netherland, in the first day. They got some information from the Company of ASGRO & Van Der Voort about the technical equipments and applications, the legislation on asbestos safety in buildings, and the managinf asbestos in buildings.
In the second day, the experts made a study visit about how to unravel and remove the asbestos in demolishing buildings. The study area was a 25 storey builging of the Ministry of Justice where the applications about unraveling and removing asbestos materials were performed. Before the study visit, the experts took the compulsory “face fit” tests and got the protection masks according to the test results.
In the last day of the Expo, the expert visited to the booths of the participant firms and collected some information about the technology and equipments in unraveling asbestos in a safe way. The expo which some NGOs also participated, e.g. Society of Asbestos Victims was closed on 16th of April.
